THEATER ACTING WORKSHOP AS AN EXPRESSIVE ART THERAPY

Speaker : Mr. Sarah Aviado, MA Lit

To set a fun, relaxed atmosphere.

To let the participants feel that acting is easy/they can act.  To reduce/eliminate inhibition among the participants

To determine what makes a participant happy, sad, scared, or angry.

To let the participants improvise a scene using different emotions.

To let them shift from one emotion to another as required by the scene.

To release strong emotions. To widen the imagination by talking to a prop “as if” it were someone/ a reminder of a person or event

To bring them to a different world where they could express themselves.

To release their deepest emotions, To experience catharsis though emotional recall.

To have a break from emotionally-loaded activity yet can still be an avenue of stories they have in mind. To have bigger movements, more vivid illustrations/dramatizations of events and better acting skills.

To reveal what certain lines may mean to different people.

To have an access on what stories linger in their minds.
