Intramurals Sy 2009-2010

Intramural sports or intramurals are recreational sports organized within a set geographic area. The term derives from the Latin words intra muros meaning within walls,[1] and was used to indicate sports matches and contests that took place among teams from "within the walls" of an ancient city (as opposed to a varsity team which competed with teams from other cities and towns).
Today, "intramural" tournaments are still organized within a specific community or municipal area, between teams of equivalent age or athletic ability. For example, intramural sports programs are often organized on college campuses to promote competition and fun among the students. As for "extramural" or varsity games, these would be played by teams from different geographic regions or towns. Even Olympic sports would be considered "extramural" sports. (From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia)

This activity is designed for the participants to be more competitive, strengthen camaraderie among their teams , be more innovative , it also promotes the real meaning of sportsmanship.

Casa Miani Community

These are the latest pictures of the community of Casa Miani “Augusta & Piera” Sorsogon City.

The community is led by the ever energetic director and superior Fr. Javier P. San Jose and with him are equally energetic and enthusiastic Fr. Joseph Don V. Castro, Bro. Anastacio Llantos, Bro. Dexter Fernandez and Bro. Ruel Lasay.

And how is our community? Well enough, let the picture speak itself. Obviously, the picture tells us that we are BIG and round…. In other words the religious community is “healthy”. But more than being physically fit, the religious have a big heart… always ready to serve and ever generous…. A feat that characterizes a true Somascan. ( by Fr. Joseph Don Castro)
